Athora Netherlands appoints Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Technology & Operations Officer to new Executive Committee

Athora Netherlands N.V. (Athora Netherlands or the Company) announces today the appointments of Annemieke Visser-Brons as Chief Commercial Officer and Bart Remie as Chief Technology & Operations Officer to its new Executive Committee. 

The Executive Committee started in January 2023 with the objective to enhance Athora Netherlands’ governance, given the implementation of a functional organisation last year; and, as such, the Executive Committee represents all relevant functions of the Company. The Executive Committee is responsible for the management, strategy and operations of Athora Netherlands. 

Enhanced governance

Diverse and well-balanced Executive Committee

Composition of the Executive Committee 

The Executive Committee consists of six members, of which four statutory board members: Chief Executive Officer Jan de Pooter, Chief Financial Officer Jan-Hendrik Erasmus, Chief Risk Officer Annemarie Mijer-Nienhuis and Chief Capital & Investment Officer Etienne Comon. Next to them, the Executive Committee has two non-statutory board members: Chief Commercial Officer Annemieke Visser-Brons and Chief Technology & Operations Officer Bart Remie. 

Annemieke Visser-Brons (1970) has joined Athora Netherlands this year from Nationale-Nederlanden, where her last role was Director Pensions. She started her career at Aegon Netherlands, where she held various management positions. From 2009 to 2017, Annemieke held several managerial positions at Delta Lloyd, including Director of Delta Lloyd Life Insurance N.V. 

Bart Remie (1981) has held various management positions in, among others, Operations & IT at Athora Netherlands and its predecessor companies, lastly as General Manager Operations & IT. He joined the Company in 2009 as a trainee.
